I’ve discovered the amazing ease of preparing a Dutch Oven Beef Stew with its hearty chunks of beef, vibrant vegetables, and the magic of Lipton onion soup mix bringing it all together for an unforgettable flavor journey.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of cubed stew beef
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of freshly cracked pepper
  • 5 tablespoons of olive oil, divided
  • 1 large sweet onion, roughly chopped
  • 10 cloves of garlic, ends removed and roughly chopped
  • 4 large carrots, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 3 stalks of celery, roughly chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups of small yellow potatoes, scrubbed
  • 1 packet of Lipton’s onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 4 cups of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, roughly chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the beef: Cut beef chuck into 1-inch cubes, removing excess fat. Pat dry for a perfect sear.
  • Sear the meat: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the Dutch oven over medium-high. Sear beef cubes until brown and crusty, then set aside.
  • Sauté vegetables: In the same pot, sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add carrots and celery, cooking until fragrant.
  • Add ingredients: Stir in Lipton Onion Soup Mix, beef broth, and herbs, ensuring even distribution.
  • Combine and simmer: Return beef to the pot, add potatoes, bring to a simmer, lower heat, and cover. Cook for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
  • Final touch: Adjust seasoning before serving. Enjoy!
